SUMMARY:
Leading homeware manufacturer seeks a Junior Financial Manager to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties and responsibilities: 

Quality assurance:
  • Ensure accurate and transparent management, interface and control processes of the finance department.
  • Professionalism and ethics.
  • Effectively communicate with all relevant parties including internal staff and external stakeholders.
Achievement of target:
  • Daily checking of bank statements and bank accounts, allocating receipt numbers and handing over to debtors.
  • Daily monitoring of cash flow and availability.
  • Recording and capturing of cash book and all monthly journals.
  • Recording and capturing of all payroll journals from Pastel payroll.
  • Leave pay calculation and schedule for 2nd floor wage staff on a monthly basis.
  • Manage interface and liaise with the different management heads for problem areas.
  • Preparation and submission of all statutory returns i.e. Vat, Paye, Emp501 reconciliation as well as Statistics forms.
  • Reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts in the General Ledger and investigating difference.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts detailing actual operating results for the month and period to date comparing prior months and prior years with explanations and exceptions.
  • Compiling and drafting of budgeted income statement and cash flow.
  • Capturing and comparison of actual cash flow and income statement to budget.
  • Monthly KPI'S and reporting at management meetings.
  • Checking of payroll monthly and importing files to make payments.
  • Preparation of working papers and liaising with auditors on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Research and analyse financial reports and market trends.
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company & Adhoc Projects.
  • Problem solving and liaising with Sage consultants.
Reporting:
  • Document and file all relevant paperwork.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports on Progress, Challenges and Achievements.
