Junior Financial Assistant | Joburg | Retail Apparel Brand

JUNIOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANT position available with Retail Apparel Brand company based in Houghton, Johannesburg.  Working under the directive of the Accountant, Finance Assistant responsibilities include processing payments, maintaining cost reports and managing invoices.

To be successful as a finance assistant, you should have strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, good organisational skills, and working knowledge of accounting software. Ultimately, a top-notch finance assistant should have integrity, excellent mathematical skills, and an understanding of data privacy standards.

Key Performance Areas to include, but not limited to:

-          Processing and preparing financial statements

-          Overseeing client accounts

-          Creating, sending, and following up on invoices

-          Collecting and reviewing data for reports

-          Reviewing and performing audits on financial statements and reports

-          Reporting discrepancies

-          Preparing payments for employees

-          Suggesting improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and reducing costs

Education and Experience required:

• Must have matric
• Degree in accounting or finance would be an added advantage
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping
• Good organisational skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent time management skills
• 2-3 years’ experience as Financial Assistant / Finance Administrator
• Interpersonal skills that allows development of strong relationships with co-workers
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Problem solving
• Good team player
• Ability to multi- task
• Customer Care

Salary:  R10,000 to R12,000 (Standard deductions apply; PAYE and UIF)
