Junior Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
A prominent JSE listed entity in the manufacturing industry is seeking a well-rounded Junior Financial Accountant to join their collaborative team. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and reports; as well as performing duties to ensure compliance with Financial Administration, General Accepted Accounting Principles and Legal Compliance.

• Relevant Accounting / Financial degree
• SAICA Articles
• Sound knowledge of VAT rules
• JDE System experience
• MS Office competence
• Hyperion experience Behavioural Competencies
• Ability to Manage Risk
• Cost Awareness

• Teamwork and Cooperation
• Driver’s License and own reliable transport  
• Ability to think analytically and problem-solve

Key Performance Areas (Responsibilities):

The Junior Financial Accountant’s duties shall include, but not be limited to:

• Receive and capture journals in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
• Monthly reconciliation and administration of general ledger accounts for Central Finance
• Monthly reconciliation of selected creditor accounts and debtor accounts
• Rebilling of costs across legal entities
• Maintenance and reconciliation of Municipal accounts
• Assist with budgets and outlooks
• Manage expenses in-line with budgets
• Review Cashbook input on monthly basis
• Attend to audit queries as and when required
• Perform ad hoc duties as and when required within reasonable job scope
