POSITION INFO:

Our client, a leading producer and exporter of high-quality variable air volume equipment and controls, seeks to employ a Mechanical Design Engineer at their premises in the Southern Suburbs.

For the position you would be required to have:

B. Sc/ B. Eng/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Around 2 years'' design experience
Natural flair for design
Air-conditioning background or interest will be a definite advantage

Responsibilities would include you to:

Assessing the design of the current product range to ensure they meet customer performance expectations.
Re-engineer of existing product range as required to ensure performance.
Developing new concept designs according to market requirements.
Ensure design for manufacturability.
Ensure Quality is built into the designs.
Value engineering of product range to reduce manufacturing cost.
Testing and laboratory proving of all designs.
Documentation of test results and product information for marketing purposes.
Develop product and component quality standards.
Ensure design principles adhering to world class standards.
Technical support to the manufacturing team when required.
Setup and run EFD Airflow Simulations.
Develop BOMs and work with Production & Procurement to implement them on Syspro.

On offer is a salary of around R25k per month.
