SUMMARY:
Junior Data Engineer - Cape Town Based

POSITION INFO:
The tasks you will perform

• Design, develop and maintain data structures.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, transform, store and share / integrate data across platforms.
• Set up and administer database-centered engineering software applications.
• Configure and manage data storage solutions including object orientated SQL databases.
• Develop advanced digital engineering workflows.
• Be a user of the database-centered engineering software generating intelligent engineering drawings and capturing the related engineering information into the database.
• Stay up to date with latest developments in the digital engineering and applications industry and specifically as it pertains to mineral processing facilities.
• Be trained in the use of database-centered engineering design software and how the various engineering software applications interface with each other, to support the company's Digital Transformation Project.
• Follow the various (Project specific and company) procedures, plans and protocols required to work efficiently and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work. 

• Tertiary level qualification in Chemical / Mechatronic / Mechanical / Electric and Electronic Engineering or similar.
• Specialised training and/or proven experience in data architecture and data integration using APL’s and software programming.
• Knowledge and/or proven experience with object-orientated SQL databases.
• Proven experience working in CAD – MicroStation / AutoCAD / SolidWorks. 
• South African Citizen or Permanent Resident (submit a colour copy of your ID or Permanent Residence Permit with your application)
• Cape Town based.
• Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.
• Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
• Demonstrate the ability to and/or proficiency in the use of specific proprietary software packages relevant to the Engineering discipline.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team and knowledge sharing environment.
• Demonstrate a practical, creative, and innovative approach to problem solving.
