Junior Creditors Clerk

SUMMARY:
Our client in the manufacturing industry is urgently looking for a Junior Creditors Clerk to join their team

POSITION INFO:

Location: Boksburg, Gauteng

• Matric
• Degree/Diploma in any finance-related qualification
• Must be fluent in Afrikaans (non-negotiable)
• 3+ years of experience in a Creditors role (Accounts Payable)
• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and GL codes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Microsoft Excel.
• Working experience in the Manufacturing of Corrugated boxes/carton industry will be an advantage.
• Must be flexible in working overtime when required.

Responsibilities:

• Capturing of expenses invoices (utility bills, levies, transport, suppliers’ invoices, etc)
• Perform monthly creditor reconciliations of all vendors’ accounts.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding invoices, invoice queries, credit notes, and payments; resolve these queries in a timely manner.
• To manage and resolve disputes with suppliers.
• Raise intercompany invoices on the monthly basis.
• Liaise with factories regarding the status of vendor accounts and special payment requests and actively manage the timely resolution of disputes, discrepancies, and queries.
• Verifying banking details with suppliers.
• Maintain account payable ledger on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Accurately filing on the daily basis.
• Have a good understanding of accruals and cut-off dates.
• Investigating and clear old queries on vendor accounts.
• Preparing creditors and COD accounts for payments within the designated timelines
• Preparing remittances and ensuring all payments are captured in the ERP system when suppliers’ payments are paid.
• Investigation and resolution of queries.
• Bank reconciliation on all the bank accounts.
• Other bookkeeping duties when required.
• Various other ad hoc projects/duties that may be required from time to time
