Junior Category Analyst

POSITION INFO:

Our client, an FMCG giant is looking for a Junior Category Analyst to join their Marketing Department. The position is based in Pietermaritzburg.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to Senior Management by conducting regular and ad-hoc business analyses (with the focus on key strategic drivers and opportunities)
• Assist with analysis and compilation of category reviews for our key customer accounts, highlighting identified customer / category opportunities and challenges, and recommended actions applicable to the key account manager
• Contribute to the Innovation / New Product Development process by analysing market data and presenting relevant facts / insights that help build compelling selling arguments for, and supports new product launches
• Maintain the category hierarchy through providing Data Orbis with regular classification updates, and new product listings
• Provide Daily Sales reports to the business
• Assist Marketing with ad-hoc projects

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree (Commerce, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
• Skills in Data analysis, data interpretation and data management
• Advanced Excel & Tableau Desktop/Server skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
• Previous experience in an analytical role within an FMCG environment would be advantageous
