Junior C++ Developer

Opening available for a Junior C++ developer to join an IT team in Century City, Cape Town, South Africa. 

Looking for an energetic candidate that will primarily focus on working alongside a Senior Developer while building, testing, configuring and deploying a system to new sites.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with our development team, partner deployment teams, our engineering team and the technical support team.

Key Areas of Responsibility

-          Develop alongside a senior developer

-          Learn testing methodologies

-          Learn business rule configurations

-          Configure and test systems before deployment

-          Deploy new software systems to sites

-          Troubleshoot system failures

-          Alter configurations to tie into existing site networks

-          Provide after hour support for system related failures

-          Compile and update system manuals

Preferred Skills

-          Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification required

-          National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent NQF 5/6 qualification required

-          C++ system development (1+ years)

-          MySQL (any Database) experience beneficial

-          Basic Networking Experience beneficial

-          Knowledge of XML beneficial

-          Any previous support experience beneficial

-          Touch typing

-          PHP development advantageous

-          Linux proficiency advantageous

-          Produce quality code

-          Good documentation skills
