JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client has an opportunity available for a Junior Buyer based in Centurion.

Requirements:

Electronic component knowledge and experience – Inherent requirement.
Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown.
Excellent listening and writing English communication skills- essential.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, whilst remaining approachable.
Integrity and trustworthiness.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy to ensure all purchase orders are accurate.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility.
Willingness to work beyond normal office hours when required.
Matric certificate.
Able to add value, reduce costs and provide positive input to business improvements.
Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills.
Familiarity with Sage Pastel Partner- beneficial.
Own reliable transport preferable.

Responsibilities:

Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact business operations.
Develop and maintain an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders.
Source suitable suppliers.
Assist the procurement manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials.
Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while seeking new ones.
Chase outstanding orders or back orders.
Generate and update buying processes as required.
Document and update supplier information.
Assess quality and accuracy of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to the procurement manager.
Prepare reports and updates as and when required.
Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
