A fast-growing wholesaler with over 40 branches nationwide is in the market for a Junior Buyer.

This is a brand-new role that has been created due to the rapid growth that is taking place.

The purpose of this role is for the Junior Buyer to support the Senor Buyers and the Regional Procurement Manager with admin and stock handling.

The successful candidate needs to ensure the right quality and quantity of product/stock, from the right supplier, at the right prices.

Non- negotiable requirements:
Nothing less than 2 years Buying and administration experience

Team player

Retail or Manufacturing exposure

Proven track record in a similar role

Time management / punctual

Negotiation skills

Main job function:

Maintain stock levels

Process purchase orders for back orders (big contracts and non-stock items)

Establish and ensure the quality of the stock to be procured are according to SABS standards

Establish the best supplier to buy the products from (price and quality mix)

Place orders and follow-up on the product order from the chosen supplier

Assist with price queries as per invoices received from creditors

Booking out stock to branches as required for Inter Branch transfers

Maintenance of product master on product status by liaising with the central stock file team

Proactive management of old and excess stock

Weekly reports

Assist with customer complaints
