Role description

The Junior Business Analyst (JBA) is responsible for contributing effectively through-out the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role of the JBA includes but is not limited to the following:

 In Sandton area

Job Requirements 

• Data analysis and reporting
• Create and implement SQL scripts as required
• Understanding business requirements and documenting, validating and translating into functional specifications, change request documents or any other documents required by the development team
• Creating project documentation
• Documenting business processes
• Act as a consultant for the client on the application, participate in client planning forums and advise on solutions
• Attend to incidents and/or requests raised via our bug/change tracking system. Follow-up and ensure completion of tasks
• Participate in the guidance and liaison with users to gain an understanding of required modifications to existing applications, or new applications and post implementation deployment support.
• Solution proposal and new ideas to use technology efficiently
• Management of all testing (SIT, UAT etc.) including creating test cases and end-to-end testing of products and services
• Creation of release notes, training material and training
• Improvement of processes, automation and role out to improve both system and non-system related functions
• Providing on-call support and problem resolution for applications where needed
• Ensure that audit requirements are met and information technology best practice is always adhered to
• Write and execute SQL scripts as required
• Assist the Lead Business Analyst with any requests
• Assist Management with any ADHOC requests from time to time
• • 1-3 Years Relevant Experience in Business Analysis
  • Degree in Business/Management/Information Technology or related field
  • Highly skilled in Excel, Word, MS Access, Process Modelling, SQL Scripts & Other Processing Software Programs
  • Ability to Plan, Organize and Structure Work
  • Good Analytical and Evaluative Skills in Tasks
  • Good Written & Oral Communication Skills, with ability to Multitask
  • Effective Time Management
  • Attention to detail and takes responsibility for deadlines
  • Takes own initiative
