Overview:

An established accounting firm is looking for a motivated Junior Accounting Clerk to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent school leaver or young professional with a passion for accounting to kick-start their career in the financial services industry.

The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience through a structured CIBA (Chartered Institute for Business Accountants) clerkship while receiving ongoing mentorship and training.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

Matric / Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject
Minimum 70% final mark in Accounting
Strong numeracy and analytical skills
Proficient in MS Office (Excel in particular)
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Eagerness to learn and develop within the profession
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Must be a South African citizen

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with data capturing and basic bookkeeping tasks
Reconcile bank statements and process transactions
Assist with VAT and tax submissions under supervision
File and maintain financial records and supporting documents
Support the accounting team with ad hoc duties and client queries
Learn and apply accounting principles and firm procedures
