JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications:

Completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
Completed RE5 certificate is essential for this position

Skills and Experience:

At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with entire Microsoft Office suite, i.e., Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel (Strong Excel skills an added advantage)
- Strong computer skills, working with multiple applications
- Knowledge of Accounting and Finance Systems (Pastel, Accpac, MIP)
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Deadline and results driven individual
- Attention to details and accuracy
- Takes ownership and responsibility of work
- Must be a result-oriented individual with a high level of integrity
- Experience in the Financial Services Industry and medical insurance an added advantage

Reporting to: Financial manager

Scope of Responsibility:

Payment of insurance claims
Reconciliation of bank accounts
Management of Accounts Payable (Suppliers)
Management of membership accounts (Groups and Individuals)
Loading of collections as well as payments onto the banking platform
Monthly allocation of premiums and premium splits on a beneficiary level
Commission calculations and statements
Maintain all internal financial controls
Any other duties as assigned by the company from time to time
