Junior Accountant (Factory Marts)

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performing month-end factory mart reconciliations across 23 Factory Marts (which is a total of 46 reconciliations currently).
• Processing of the Factory Mart schedules sent through from the various Factory Marts.
• Ensure the cash-up reports are being done (and sent) on a daily basis, from the branch level.
• Capture the cash-up reports on a monthly schedule.
• Check and verify that all amounts on the report are supported with supporting documents (which include bank statements, Syspro reports, etc.).
• Print bank statements and tie back the amounts from the cash-up reports to the bank. Indicate on the bank statements the deposits/withdrawals that belong to the factory mart account. This will be captured by the cashbook clerk.
• Check for cash requisitions and expenses being paid via the factory mart. Prepare and process the GL journal for this.
• At month end reconcile the GL accounts (ensure that all payments have been captured into the GL and this ties back to the sales for the month. All variances need to be justified and
  supported).
• Liaise with the operation managers at the branch level to resolve queries.
• This position is also a support function for the Cashbook clerks.
• Various other ad hoc projects may be required from time to
  time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Relevant tertiary finance qualification
• Computer literate: Syspro, Qlikview, and MS Office

EXPERIENCE:

• Min 2 years working experience in a similar role
• Experience in an FMCG environment will be advantageous for
  this role
