Junior Accountant - Contract position

SUMMARY:

A group of wine farms, situated in the Helderberg and Stellenbosch region, is looking for a proactive, Junior Accountant that is available immediately to fill a Maternity leave contract. You will provide accounting support to the Group Accountant for 3 wine farms.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:
·         Responsible for stock reconciliation of 3 wine farms.
·         Monthly bottle storage rental calculations.
·         Intercompany invoicing between the 3 farms.
·         Processing Meridian and international agent supplier  invoices.
·         Processing general journals in Pastel.
·         Weekly processing of bank and monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
·         Monthly preparation of Sales Reports.
·         Complete Reserve Bank quarterly reports.
·         Provide Pastel Evolution Reports to other departments as requested.
·         Responsible for reconciliation of fixed asset registers.
·         Assist with preparation of all necessary documentation for the auditors for the annual audits.
·         Provide assistance to Group Accountant and Financial Manager during preparation of Annual budgets. 
Skills and Requirements:

• B Com (Financial Management) or equivalent commerce degree
• 1-2 years’ experience in a commercial role

•       Follows up and ensures things get done on time.
•       Structures work logically and efficiently and executes accordingly.

•       Takes ownership of issues and follows through to point of resolve.
•    Considers the wider consequences of each decision.

•        Output is accurate and error free.
•    Deadlines are met.
