My client who is in the events production sector is seeking a Junior Accountant.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

My client who is in the events production sector is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their very vibrant and energetic team. You will be responsible for the daily, weekly, monthly accounting functions. The position needs someone with a high level of attention to detail, analytical, problem-solving abilities and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will need to have a completed degree with three years' experience in a similar role.

 Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of accounts to Trial Balance
  • Maintain and reconcile Asset Registers
  • Review and maintain Ledgers
  • Prepare required Reconciliations
  • Preparation of required Schedules
  • Compile VAT Return
  • Management and development of junior members of the team
  • Support business partners with their various ad hoc requests for required Management Reporting and Analyses
  • Play an effective role in the broader Finance team to ensure collaboration and communication between the functional areas
  • Assist Finance Manager with forecasting, budgeting, month-end reporting process and any other ad-hoc requests in line with business requirements 

Requirements:

  • Three year's accounting experience
  • Accounting Qualification (BCom Accounting, Accounting Diploma etc.)
  • Xero Accounting software knowledge will be a strong advantage
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Time management
  • Critical thinking
  • Active learning
