Junior Accountant

Job & Company Description:

A boutique accounting firm seeks a Junior Accountant to join their dynamic and close-knit team based remotely.

The client base is based primarily in Ladysmith in KwaZulu-Natal, preference will be given to candidates that are based in Ladysmith, are prepared to relocate to Ladysmith, or are willing to travel to Ladysmith at least once a month for face-to-face meetings with clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for the full accounting function for a variety of clients and given the opportunity for exposure to various industries. Duties include, but not limited to compilation of  financial statement; and preparation and submission of income tax, VAT, payroll and UIF submissions.

Education:

BCom in Accounting / Finance

Skills & Experience:

Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles
OR 2 to 3 years' experience within a similar role

Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Xero, Pastel and CaseWare experience is essential

Financial acumen

Strong personality

Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

Own reliable transport is essential
