Junior Accountant

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for Capex process for the entire group, which includes (but is not limited to):

• Submission of Capex forms, which includes quotations and motivations from branches, on the SharePoint system.
• Submission of Disposal forms, which includes quotations and motivations from branches, on the SharePoint system.
• Annual asset verifications for the group, which is currently 19 branches (including Zambia). This involves traveling to the branches and physically verifying what they have at the branch to the SharePoint system.
• Annual extension of Useful Life exercise.
• Petty cash verification and preparation for journals across all 19 branches (including Zambia).
• Month-end rolls include the following:

? AP, AR, INV rolls across all 5 Syspro companies on the last day of the month.

? Cashbook rolls across all 5 Syspro companies on the 3rd the working day of the month.

? GL rolls across all 5 companies on the 10th working day of the month.

• Sustainability reports on the 7th working day.
• Fuel report submissions from First Auto.
• Managing cellphone contracts.
• Foreign travel requirements.
• This position will also act as a support function for the Financial Accountants.
• Various other ad hoc projects may be required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Relevant tertiary finance qualification
• Computer literate: Syspro, Qlikview, and MS Office

EXPERIENCE:

• Min 2 years working experience in a similar role
• Experience in an FMCG environment will be advantageous for this role
