Junior Accountant

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Junior Accountants to provide support to our clients finance departments by managing daily accounting tasks. The role will include preparing financial statements and reporting will be part of the daily responsibilities of the Junior Accountant. The incumbent should be able to pay attention to detail as this role will provide financial support to the company and facilitate the finance department to run efficiently. POSITION INFO:

Duties:

• Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded;
• Update accounts receivables and issue invoices;
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations;
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines;
• Assist with reviewing of expenses payroll records etc.as assigned ;
• Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed ;
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports;
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly /yearly closings;
• Assist with other accounting projects.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric);
• BCom Accounting;
• ACCA, CIMA,CA (SA) accreditation

Experience:

• Completed SAICA Articles
• 1-2 years’ experience as a junior accountant will be advantageous;
• Good experience of accounting principles;
• Writing of financial reports is a must;
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Operating experience in CaseWare is a must.
