SUMMARY:

A global leader in the Agricultural industry is seeking a dynamic Agronomist to provide agronomic, technical, sales and marketing support to the commercial team and to present recommendations to farmers and agents in the assigned area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must have a tertiary qualification in Agronomy or similar
2-3 years’ experience in an Agronomist role is essential.
Experience and technical knowledge of the seed industry will be ideal
Wide crop experience, including cereals and pastures will be an advantage
Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Providing technical support to clients and the commercial team on cereal and pasture crops.
Supporting the marketing team in terms of field trials and marketing material placement.
Networking with farmers and brokers to present available products and to solicit demonstration trial sites.
Performing general problem solving and fault-finding during field activities to enable successful trail harvesting and planting.
Collating, preparing, packing, and distributing trial seed for strip trial activities.
Populating counts on emerged trials.
Conducting frequent inspection and scouting of all trial plantings to ensure high success rates and timely harvest and planting activities.
Compiling detailed data records regarding results of harvested and planted trials.
Analysing trial data records and results to prepare reports.

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
