POSITION INFO:

JNR DESIGN DRAUGHTSMAN, R15000-R20000 Cost to Company – Depending on experience/knowledge, North of Pretoria.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

• • Technical Matric or Diploma in design / engineering.
• • Diploma or certificate of CAD proficiency.

Experience

• • 2 years minimum working with Solid Edge or Solid Worx (Solid Edge Preferred)
• • 2 years minimum working in a Wood, Fibreglass / steel fabrication factory.
• • CORELDRAW Experience will be advantageous.
• • MS Office experience necessary.

General

• • Methodical worker. Must be able to handle various projects at the same time, depending on the urgency of the task.
• • Good communication skills. Must be able to receive and transfer information to the appropriate departments, without creating unnecessary confusion.
• • Must be able to communicate clearly and with respect to suppliers and/or clients on any issue.

Preferable

Knowledge in the automotive and trailer manufacturing industry will be advantageous.

Tasks

• • Design of new ranges of vans as well as the complete upgrade of the various existing ranges.
• • Keep the various design principles separate.
• • Design a Unit to comply with the Road Traffic Law.
• • Design patterns for fibreglass components.
• • Design steel parts which can be effectively formed and finished. (welded, spotwelded, riveted)
• • Design Wood furniture, that can be cut, formed and assembled to a high quality standard.
• • Design decals. (CorelDraw)
• • Create nestings for the wood router machines, to effectively cut the furniture from standard wood sheets.
• • Create 2D drawings to assist the assembly staff, in completing their tasks to a high standard
