POSITION INFO:

An international supplier of specialty chemicals and gases seeks to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Inventory Manager. You will provide the link between Sales, Operations, Customer Service and Finance by managing product procurement, managing the SIOP process to ensure appropriate stock levels in line with sales requirements as well as cylinder management for the timely supply of products to customers.

For the position you would be required to have:

• Around 8 years’ work experience in planning, stock and procurement in a similar environment
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Inventory Management (diploma/degree)
• Management experience
• Excellent understanding of transaction flow of SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) and inventory management
• Experience working with an ERP system is ESSENTIAL
• Highly computer literate (MS Office suite), especially EXCEL

Responsibilities would include you to:

• Inventory Management, ensure correct stock levels at all branches and distribution centres are proactively maintained in accordance with the planning system for optimisation of stock levels
• Procurement Management, ensure all product is procured in line with sales and production plans, updating the necessary inventory planning tool to ensure the stock is purchased within the required lead times and cost base.
• Cylinder tracking, ensure that all data is accurate and up to date, implementing the necessary procedures and audits where necessary.
• In and outbound Logistics Management, manage shipments of stock to ensure items are available when required
• SIOP, evaluate material/production and sales trends for preparation of inventory procurement and production plans always ensuring availability of stock at the correct location to fulfil customer orders
• Supplier Management, maintain superior and cost-effective relationships with all suppliers
