International Trade Logistics Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a global logistics expert to become part of a dynamic and highly motivated business operation.

Our client is a globally established trade and supply chain business that has been around for more than 30 years. With offices based in Cape Town, they are embarking on a rapid growth campaign to meet the needs of the significant growth in client business requirements. We are keen to hear from experienced logistics professionals within the soft commodities Trade field who are positive can-do people with a defined commercial edge and a drive to succeed in delivering strong results. This position may lead to opportunities for overseas relocation as the company fulfils its growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

As the international logistics specialist your key responsibilities and tasks will include:

• Creating and upholding outstanding client services with the inside and outside clients
• Executing import and export consignment and loading operations to transport the commodities from international origins to international destinations
• Organizing and planning global consignments and making wise decisions on financial conveyance or movement
• Making sure that the consignment, loading and shipment deliveries are properly planned to progress through the functional steps while maintaining the government documented and agreement needs
• Administering, supervising, directing and overseeing the payload, shipment, cargo and consignment business dealing methods, operations and procedures on a regular basis
• Making sure that the supply and provision back-up needs are converted and configured into procurement and purchasing events by the compiled logistics undertakings and work operations with respect to their components
• Administering and upholding good relations with the supply distributors to ensure price-cuttings and greater effectivity
• Holding location negotiations, when and as needed, and getting associated with the service distributors to give punctual and perfectly suitable services
• Revaluating, reassessing, studying and examining the logistics, provision and supply information and the daily methods and procedural operations for searching various prospects and possibilities to enhance the superiority of logistics services
• Impersonating and representing various logistics enhancement project undertakings, tasks, duties, jobs and workings
• Observing global business commercial enterprises for new rules and methods that affect the roles and functions
• Perfecting the incoming and outgoing supply and provision quality, price and work activity standards
• Making sure that all the consignments, shipments, dispatchments, deliveries, loadings, payloads and freights are executed smoothly in order to ensure profitability
• Interacting with the clients with respect to business and transport matters
• Dealing with and administering different planned and strategized supply and provision matters
• Recommending enhanced modifications and developments in various logistics operations and activities and taking feedback from the clients and staff
• Inspecting the client complaints and assertions, demands and requests and satisfying them
• Developing creative and constructive thoughts, methods and procedures to execute various logistics operations and activities, functionally and efficiently
• Enforcing business possibilities to enhance, narrow down and re-design the logistics work methods, procedures, tasks, operations and activities
• Making sure that the logistics operations and activities of the global company are executed within the given time and available budgets
• Recognizing, developing and creating inside and outside coalitions, associations and treaties that help in the development of business and benefitting the clients and service distributors
• Recognizing the new logistics possibilities and prospects, also through contacts and friendly bonds with the clients, associates and subordinates for future business development
• Completing the jobs, duties, roles, responsibilities, tasks, undertakings, operations, activities, and workings that are remaining, allocated to you and all those that fall under your working and administrative area or territory within the organization

Educational Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor''s degree in commerce / business management
• 8+ years international trade business experience, soft commodity trade experience is preferred
• Solid computer and geographic skills.
• Comfortable using different kinds of data and able to make fast decisions.
• Able to maintain good client relations and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
• Eye for detail and strong documenting and logistics skills.
• Extremely good checking, inspecting, analysing and solving skills.
• Physically and mentally fit and strong with a balanced personality.

This role, which will involve considerable international travel for business purposes, will initially be located in Cape Town, South Africa, with the intention to relocate overseas as the company fulfils its growth strategy.
