Key Salesperson Responsibilities
- Meet customer needs and sell product in line with sales and gross profit targets
- Maintain and grow good relationships with existing customers, obtaining and converting orders.
- Develop relationships with new customers.
- Plan and organise a daily schedule to call existing and potential sales outlets.
- Put together quotations for customers
- Put through Sales Orders ensuring correct items and price are on the order.
- Communicate timeously with customers regarding stock availability and order deliveries.
- Maintain and update pricelist for your customers
- Provide technical and functional information to customers on products
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, liaising with Finance and developing solutions.
- Elevate stock problems and complaints to management
- Monitor competition and provide marketplace information on pricing, products and general developments to management and sales team.
- Participate actively in discussions and make recommendations regarding strategy, solutions, feedback, new products and general improvements.
- Contribute to great team morale and cover for other salespeople should they be on leave or out of the office.

Work Hours
Work hours are as follows:
- 8am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday;
- 8am – 4pm on Friday;
- Daily 30-minute lunch break
Fixed monthly salary to be discussed. All leave days are as per the BCEA. Bonuses are at the sole discretion of the Directors.
Salesperson Qualification and Skills
- Computer literacy is a necessity
- Excellent telephonic and verbal communication skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Proficiency in a second South African language would be an advantage
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Sage Evolution would be an advantage
- Exceptional organisation and ability to follow up with customers
- Desire to work as part of a team
- Self-confidence
- Negotiation skills
- Product knowledge and desire to learn
- 3 – 5 years of sales experience in the electrical industry
- Valid drivers’ licence
