JOB DESCRIPTION:


An exciting career opportunity is available at one of the premier golf & leisure resorts in the country for an experienced and motivated Internal Sales & Events Coordinator. In this capacity you will be responsible to coordinate all internal events on behalf of Fancourt.
 
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail. Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent, and valid drivers’ license is required. Must have excellent knowledge of MS Office and at least 1 years’ experience in Reservations, Hospitality, Sales or Customer Service, Banqueting and or event co-ordinating. Note - availability to work on weekend and public holidays, and flexibility in terms of extended work hours / responsibilities is required.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to: 
  • Tasked to research and create new events to be hosted at Fancourt,
  • Ensure the smooth running of already booked events at the property,
  • Understand the complex needs of different events and how they will positively impact bottom line revenue,
  • Responsible for planning all event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, decor and coordinating event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers,
  • Manage and oversee events on the day of, including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organizing vendors, and managing take-down,
  • Communicate with the marketing team to create effective advertisements for each event,
  • Create sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events,
  • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports,
  • Manage event budgets,
  • Issuing of prize letters,
  • Co-ordinating payment of all marketing accounts,
  • Issuing and keeping stock of marketing gifting,
  • Strong focus on growing RevPor in the business,
  • Internal sales within all departments of Fancourt to ensure efficient communication and understanding of each departments needs when creating new events.
The ideal candidate can demonstrate and offer verifiable examples of:
  • Heaps of passion for the industry,
  • Detail orientation and organising skills,
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure,
  • An understanding of the demands within the hospitality industry will be an advantage.
