The successful Internal Auditor: Data Analyst will be responsible for:

• Assist Group Internal Audit in executing the annual internal audit and operational plan through data analytics and information systems support
• Assisting with developing a strategy to grow existing data analytics capabilities throughout the group (including continuous improvement).
• Planning, developing and executing scripts in accordance with ACL scripting standards.
• Developing quality assurance processes for testing the outputs of results.
• Continuous improvements/refinements of scripts.
• Analysis of data for inconsistencies.
• Providing data analytic support to the internal audit team.
• Administrative support for audit software (ACL Desktop/Highbond Robots, SAP Connector, Highbond)
• Planning, executing and reporting on assigned planned and unplanned engagements within the prescribed deadlines and in accordance with (GIA’s) methodology and the IIA standards.
• Providing on-the-job training/coaching of staff interested in data analytics.
• Communication of progress to Audit Management.
• Identifying areas for improvement and efficiencies in existing audit and operational processes.
• Assisting with the implementation of key initiatives to mature the internal audit function.
• Assist with the day-to-day administration of GIA.
• Maintain accurate time records.
• Contributing to annual and strategic internal audit planning.
• Assist with reporting to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• BCom (Honours in Internal Auditing) or a Degree/Diploma in Information Technology
• ACDA (ACL Data Analyst) certification

Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ data analyst experience using ACL AX/ACL Desktop/Highbond Robotics.
• Advanced scripting preferably using ACL/Highbond Command Language (SQL or python would also be considered).
• Internal audit experience would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite as a successful candidate without experience can be enrolled (upon acceptance of their application) into the IIA SA’s learnership program.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Advanced MS Excel
