A diverse group that is invested in a portfolio of retail and manufacturing operations is looking for an Internal Auditor to join their group. The group operates as a national franchisor and as a distribution centre. Duties:

Conduct internal audits at various businesses independently and in a team
Carry out other internal audit activities as may be necessary for the successful execution of the audit plan
Identify weaknesses in procedures, systems and internal controls and make recommendations on how to improve the internal controls and governance processes
Facilitate the implementation of recommendations made
Perform stock-take audits at various branches/factories/divisions
Carry out ad-hoc or special investigations to detect fraud and theft of the organisations assets.
Objectively review a branch/divisions business processes and risks, and evaluate the efficiency of risk management procedures that are currently in place
Carry out consulting engagements in operational areas with high impact, such as warehousing principles, stock control, cash management etc and ensure sustainable improvements with constant reinforcement.
Ensure that the organisation is complying with relevant laws and regulations

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
BCom Internal audit/ BTech Internal audit or similar qualification
Studying towards CIA beneficial

Experience:

2 – 3 years internal audit experience
Branch audit experience is a BIG WIN!
Strong retail background is a MUST!
Must be willing and able to travel
SAP will be beneficial

Skills & Competencies:

Diligent and able to pay great attention to detail
Deadline driven
Excellent analytical skills - must grasp the significance of seemingly minor or small details
Strong report writing skills
Sound independent judgement
High level of integrity, as this establishes trust and provides the basis for reliance on your work
