INTERNAL AUDITOR

Internal Auditor KZN.  Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for operational, financial, regulatory and compliance related internal audits/reviews of the organisation as well as to monitor the implementation of corrective actions so as to improve operations, enhance internal controls and reduce costs where possible.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Execution of the Internal Audit Engagement work program by ensuring that it is consistent with  the scope and objectives of the audit, policies and procedures and IIA standards and other guidelines;
• Review of the organisation’s business processes so as to identify gaps, initiate and monitor improvements;
• Evaluation of the Organisational Risk Register so as to identify deficiencies in controls and to mitigate organisational risks.
• Co-ordination of internal and external Audit processes;
• Provision of support to all sections so as to close gaps in instances where there are audit findings.
• Prepare timely audit reports for Manco, Exco, subcommittees of the Board and the Board.

• Ensure proper records management, both electronic and physical.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or a Bachelor of Technology Degree (NQF Level 7) in Internal Audit, Accounting or Commerce and three years’ experience, post qualification, in an internal or external audit environment.
• Registration with the Institute of Internal Auditors (SA).
• Must be fully experienced with principles and practices of internal audit practice, audit techniques, applicable legislative and regulatory frameworks including but not limited tothe PFMA, Treasury Regulations, King Report on Corporate Governance, Framework for managing performance information for public entities, Public Sector Risk Management Framework, Government Accounting Standards and General Accepted Accounting practice as well as the Generally Recognised Accounting Practice.
• Assertive, strong analytical, written/verbal communication, adaptable to change, and ability to multi-task, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.  Ability to maintain independence, integrity and objectivity.
• Must be fully computer literate in MS Office

• Minimum of a Code B Driver’s licence.
