Job & Company Description:

The incumbent in this role will be responsible for conducting and documenting relatively complex audit reports and carrying out as prescribed audits while ensuring the proper safeguarding of assets.  Audit must be done in such a manner that all necessary information is obtained, and any shortcomings reported.  The internal auditor will play an important role in customer centricity, management of people, operational dealings and learning and growth.

Education:

BCom degree

CA (SA) / CIA Qualification (Beneficial)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Independence

• Good understanding of business and banking environments
• Familiarity with IT Auditing
• Documentation of business and system controls
• Strong computer literacy skills and interest in IT Audits
• Strong competency in Data Analytics and Data Analytics Tools

Job Responsibilities:

• Improve Internal Audit efficiency through increasing the number of audits completed for the year and audit budgets per engagement
• reduce the timeline between performing the audit and issuing the audit report.
• Obtaining a detailed understanding and knowledge of the areas being audited as part of planning activities.
• Maintain and build interpersonal relationships
• Promote harmony and sharing of knowledge within workplace
• Reach objectives within given deadlines and display willingness to assist others
• Detect inherent risks relevant to the process under review
• Identify and document key controls based on (i) the understanding of the process under review, and (ii) the risk assessment both in a narrative and process flow document
• Conceptualise expected control activities that will address the identified inherent risks for the process under review
• Provide clear and accurate  observation statements which includes a detailed root-cause analysis which is supported by audit evidence..
