Intermediate Software Engineer (PERN Stack)

SUMMARY:
Intermediate Software Engineer 
Our client has built a technology platform which enables anyone to access the closest vetted private security & medical response unit to their location, anywhere, anytime, using a connected device. They are looking for an experienced individual to take on an Engineering Manager and Software Architect role within their technology department. This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa with room for remote working. An individual in this role will take charge of the day to day management and running of the clients product pods as well as guiding a young team of engineers in building a global tech safety platform. The Software Engineering Manager will report directly to the CTO.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities and Duties:
● Technical scoping of new work and features.
● Participation in sprint planning within a development unit.
● Code reviews and pairing with team members.
● Feature development based on product specifications.
● Full stack development - design/development/automated testing/CI/deployment. 

Qualifications & Experience
● 2+ years of Software Engineering experience.

● Key Skill Sets:
○ AWS and/or general cloud architecture experience.
○ Javascript/Typescript, NodeJS, React ecosystems.
○ PostgreSQL/Relational Databases.
○ RESTful API development.
○ Automation/Code testing frameworks

● Bonus Skill Sets:
○ Mobile development and architecture experience.
○ Agile/SCRUM training.

● South African resident or valid work permit.

Remuneration:
● Base Monthly Salary
● Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) vested over a 4 year period
