SUMMARY:
Instrumentation Technician needed at a leader in the field of drilling for an international client base. Applicant must have PLC programming, SCADA, and a solid understanding of Mining electronics and Instrumentation. Will work closely with the R&D department to render services to the mines.
POSITION INFO:
Position: Instrumentation Technician: Mine Services
Location: Gauteng Fochville - must be willing to travel for work
Industry-leading drilling service company. Clients include Mines, Energy clients, and Construction companies across the world
Drilling methods is a service to their extended database, but the company develops their own equipment in-house. The electronic department does the R&D and operational support for Mobile applications, interfacing with the Control & Instrumentation, SCADA, Remote Camera Monitoring, and Mobile Machine Automation
Instrumentation Technician required to assist with integration to the C&I as well as Support Services to the drilling team
Qualification:
National Diploma in electronic engineering (instrumentation specialization as a preference)
Or N6 with Trade test as an Instrumentation technician
Background Required:
- MUST have worked within the mining field for at least 4-8 years
- Knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix and Micro Logix
- Maintenance on Rockwell SCADA RSView32
- Fundamentals and Developing of SCADA, FactoryTalk View, Rockwell Automation
- Network Systems: Network Switches, Network, Control Net, Profibus, Telemetry
- Field Instrumentation
Responsibilities:
- PLC programming on Alan Bradley
- Maintenance and Repairs on Instrumentation related to drilling services
- Fault-finding
- Maintaining Software on Allen Bradley
- Installation of equipment used to interface with the Network
- Troubleshooting on network system
- Analyze and identify problems on the current systems and infrastructure
- Troubleshooting and software and hardware problems resolution
