Primary Responsibilities

To perform inspection and report on Mineral commodities, in accordance with instructions received from Manager of Non Energy Minerals and Location Manager.

Specific Responsibilities

â–ª Maintain quality, efficiency and confidentiality of service.

â–ª Liaise with operations and efficiency manager and field staff.

â–ª Continuously upgrade the quality of services offered

â–ª Establish, direct and review the system of application, recording, certification, filing, sample storage and field auditing.

â–ª Communication with other branches/divisions and the laboratory to achieve required turnover time for all submitted samples.

â–ª Assist in the co-ordination of shipments and other field work

â–ª Co-ordinate compiling of spreadsheet results, updating daily and reporting to client

â–ª Assist in efficient administrative running of the office

â–ª Invoicing

â–ª Implementation of cost control measures

â–ª Liaise with the clients

â–ª To carry or supervise submittal of samples with sample submission form

â–ª Keep direct superior informed regarding progress and/ or non-conformance.

â–ª Liaise with local clients regarding pertinent details and information related to the operations

â–ª Assist in continuously upgrading the quality of services offered, in support of Customer services policy and minimises client complaints and claims

â–ª General office duties.

â–ª Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS Management System.

â–ª Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.

â–ª Participate and form part of Operational Integrity projects and campaigns.

â–ª Comply and conform to the QHSE policy of the company.

â–ª Apply Check status process and use the stop work Authority wherever the control of risks is not clearly established and understood.

Required Skills

• Education

• Matric [ Minimum] , preferably with maths

• Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)

• Typing Skills

• Computer Literacy in word and excel

• Calculation capability- accurate capturing of field data

• Experience

• 2 years’ experience in inspection operation.

• 1 year supervision experience

• Competencies

• Report writing

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)

• Any other languages is an added advantage

• Typing skills an advantage

• Calculation capability

• Valid Passport an advantage
