Ink Technician

SUMMARY:

Our client based in Centurion is looking for an experienced Ink Technician to join their team who run an Ink Laboratory at various customers.

POSITION INFO:

The successful applicant will have experience in a similar environment. The Ink Technician will be responsible for their own performance as well as safety and housekeeping. Their role is to ensure the quality and service expectations of our customers are met. Reporting to the Technical Account Manager or Regional Sales Manager, the Ink Technician will be required to work shifts and the key result areas include:

• Mixing and issuing ink, varnish, chemicals and other consumable items
• Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
• Conducting drawdowns/proofs for new pantone/jobs
• Assisting press operators with queries and troubleshooting on press
• Capturing information on the Ink Management System
• Assisting press operators with colour matching and colour scans
• Maintaining necessary documentation accurately and timeously

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• 5 Year’s experience in an Ink lab & Colour matching department
• Colour Test Passed
• Technical Aptitude
• Previous experience in a printing environment
