POSITION INFO:

National automotive company seeks to appoint a skilled Injection Moulding Fitter & Turner for their Port Elizabeth plant.

• To ensure operational efficiencies, and volume, quality and productivity targets are met
• To perform technical maintenance and breakdown repair tasks to ensure production schedules and expectations are met.
• Maintenance & modification of the various existing moulds & injection moulding machinery
• Refurbishment of tools to standard specs, assist & support the workshop team
• Examines moulded products from each machine to verify conformance to specifications.
• Ensure  junior artisans and new employees are trained on all applicable work instruction and machine operations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety rules and standards
• Ensure good housekeeping maintain a safe work environment within Injection moulding department
• Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions
• Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies, and safety standards.
• Implement and manage all maintenance functions, including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all injection moulding equipment.
• Identify and proactively execute opportunities for improvement within the production Injection moulding department

 

Primary purpose: To support the maintenance team on all related matters

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Valid Trade Certificate as a Millwright or as a Fitter and Turner; competency in both mechanical and electrical essential
• Ability to read drawings as well as experience working with conventional lathes and boring mills. 
• Min 2 years’ experience in plastic injection manufacturing
