Infrastructure Specialist

SUMMARY:
We require an Infrastructure Specialist to work in Cape Town for a contract role.

POSITION INFO:

The duties and skills required of the Infrastructure Specialist include (but are not limited to) the following: 

• Assist the Infrastructure lead with troubleshooting Frontend, Middleware and backend errors.
• Must have experience with AWS environment (Replication the onsite environment to cloud; must know how the frontend is secured, how it integrates, how traffic is routed via proxy and how frontend users access the Network).
• In-depth Network Engineer.
• In-depth Infrastructure Experience.
• Experience with Microsoft .Net, .Net Core.
• Must be able to Set up Farm.
• Experience with IPS Filters.
• Internal Server 500 error – for example.
• Experience with Firewalls.
• Experience with load balancing.
• Experience with Network Security.
• Middleware layer – decrypt developers’ issues, put it into infrastructure terms (Understand how applications are hosted, set up, changed, troubleshooted, campus into cloud).
• Security, network, proxy, infrastructure.
• Windows knowledge, .Net, .net core.
• How a website functions – what it’s doing on middleware, how it gets to (SQL, Oracle, Database).
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of multiple projects.
• Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
• Monitor and report on progress of projects.
• Contribute to the development and administration of multiple projects.
• Perform network analysis and capacity planning and testing as necessary.
• Contribute to the development and administration of network disaster recovery plans.
• Install and maintain network hardware and software.
• Evaluate and modify system’s performance.
• Determine network and system requirements.
• Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment and security.
• Lifting/moving servers and other IT Equipment.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Provide world-class desktop support both desk-side and remotely (via phone and remote desktop access) in line with department procedures and SLA’s.
• Identify, analyze, isolate, troubleshoot and provide detail resolutions of complex technical issues.
• Maintain a library of associated materials for all equipment, processes and procedures supported by the company.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of previous Experience.
