Information Architect Specialist (Temp)

Cape Town

Responsibility of Job

To establish the information architecture and frameworks for business analytics that facilitate access to, flexible sharing and exchange of enterprise information in collaboration with business and information technology disciplines.

Qualification & Experience (Minimum)

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
• Relevant Degree in Information and / or Enterprise Architecture Development
• 5 Years’ Experience in Information Management and / or Enterprise Architecture Development and management

• Implementation and enhancement of information architecture
• Definition of information design principles in line with The Client’s’ business
• Decision support systems and information management standards
• Provision of assistance to projects in implementing information solutions

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA

Implementation and enhancement of information architecture

• Builds and maintains an Enterprise Information Architecture solutions
• Provides and maintain conceptual information model of information solutions and to map and demonstrate improvements.
• Constructs logical and physical data/information models and map information flows
• Assists with the production and maintenance of logical and physical entity relationship diagrams
• Demarcates functional boundaries for information classification and flows

Definition of information design principles in line with the Client’s business.

• Design and improve how users experience information management systems.
• Build the layout, mapping and user-interfaces for web, desktop and mobile applications to make the information displayed clearer and easier to use.
• Define master data for The Client’s and metadata requirements.

Decision support systems and information management standards

• Develops a set of standards for Information management and information security
• Assists with the provision of standards for the naming of data elements.
• Consolidates all standards that impact on interoperability between the Client’s systems
• Assists with quality assurance with respect to Information Management standards and conducting information quality checks and surveys.
• Assess information solutions to evaluate its usability, usefulness, visual design, content and branding.
• Assist with development and operation of Management Information and Decision Support Systems
• The development of a ETL solutions and data warehouse solutions for The Client’s for business analytics
• The selection and operation of business intelligence/analytics tools
• Advices on information risk and security management.

Provision of assistance to projects in implementing information solutions

• Provide thought leadership and innovation to improve the value derived from management information systems.
• The development of information models e.g. data, process, metrics and object based models.
• Specify and ensure adherence to information architecture methodologies.
• Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) data from various source databases to a data warehouse.
• Guide and lead the business analytics environment from source to a dashboard display of analytics.
• Development of business dashboards and information management systems.
• Documentation of the business analytics solutions implemented.
• Lead effective change by identifying key stakeholders, understanding business challenges and translating them into business requirements and solutions.

Resource Availability Requirements

• Be available for the duration of the assigned time.
• Fully proficient, accredited and trained to act an information architect.
• Access to support from more experienced people to assist them to deliver the solutions and solve problems and to ensure continuity
• Must provide development and daily updates on progress
• Must give status report weekly and timesheets
• Must do daily demonstrations of achieved milestones and critical paths
• Must provide a hand over and support plan at the end of implementation of changes
