SUMMARY:
Indirect Buyer

(Medical Aid, Pension, Funeral Cover, Counceling)
Our client is seeking an experienced Indirect Buyer with:

a tertiary qualification in Purchasing or Logistics (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) is highly recommended
at least 5 years buying experience in a manufacturing, indirect procurements, strategic sourcing environment
2+ years experience in material planning, inventory management or related position
knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management
developing and deploying category strategy

The above requirements are a MUST HAVE to be considered for the position.

The Indirect Buyer will negotiate with dedicated providers according to specific policies to achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customers satisfaction. The role requires a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

Supplier performance KPIs
RFQ/Contract negotiations
Stakeholder relationship management (internal and external)
Complex negotiations with suppliers
Manage projects and perform purchasing tenders and supplier selection
Monitor supplier performance and contract execution at a strategic level
Review market developments that affect individual categories
Manages day-to-day supplier relationship activities
Executes sourcing projects to deliver YOY savings
Work with Procurement Manager
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Place purchase orders for consumable, maintenance spares and raw materials
Control imported material for production
Arrange import transportation with freight forwarder
Comply with BBBEE requirements in terms of Supplier management
Housekeeping
