Import Forwarding Controller

SUMMARY:
Import Forwarding Controller based in Durban

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Import Forwarding Controller to join a leading suppy solutions company based in Durban

The person would work closely with our forwarding manager and take over a number of clients from her with the following primary roles:

• Receive new ex works FCA and FOB orders and pass them onto overseas agents for action
• Liaise with agents and customs to get cargo booked on sailings or airfreight to achieve required in store dates
• Quality control final order details with physical order confirmations to confirm all cargo booked as ordered
• Manage the selection of services (sea or air) to fit the requirements and quote / rates in place or if necessary offer rates to clients for consideration if not already quoted
• Quality control documentation and ensure all documentation is received and passed onto our registration team timeously
• Deal with queries and delays and liaise between suppliers, agents and consignee to achieve solutions where necessary
• Add all order updates to our cargo wise system and report on non-conformances or orders that will not meet deadlines
• For certain client work with their order books and inventory management systems to ensure all orders are in our system, updated and issues proactively assessed and solved
• Update tracking information until final documentation received and handed over to the operations team

5 years’ experience and a clear understanding of incoterms, ordering processes and shipping documentation 

Cargo Wise experience would be beneficial
