SUMMARY:
My client in tax consulting services is seeking an experienced Immigration Consultant with experience in African countries.

POSITION INFO:

Must have Africa experience

Duties:

  • Manage client base of professional and corporate clients
  • Consult and advise on best suited visa and permit categories and possible risk areas
  • Liaise with clients within a professional manner
  • Attend client meetings and build professional relationships
  • Manage cases end-to-end with support from admin team
  • Liaise with the different government Authorities in Africa in order to ensure a smooth Immigration process
  • Build relationship with various stakeholders in the immigration field including third party providers throughout Africa
  • Remain up to date on latest legislation changes
  • Write articles on the legislation changes
  • Assist with marketing initiatives as and when required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Formal qualification is advantageous
  • Experience in Immigration Services Industry in Africa, additional outbound experience preferable
  • Advanced computer literacy non-negotiable
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
  • Good writing skills
  • Driver’s license and vehicle non-negotiable

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Respond effectively/appropriately to immigration enquiries, and within specified timelines
  • Logging of all new enquiries
  • Assessing applicants’ eligibility within a certain visa category
  • Drafting of supporting letters specifically speaking to the Immigration Act, and detailing the context of the candidate’s application
  • Vetting of documentation pertaining to visa applications
  • Contacting foreign embassies to ascertain any additional visa requirements
  • Effectively manage our immigration co-councils for any outbound visas; in terms of invoicing, giving instruction to compile visa applications and checking of compiled applications
  • Compiling of visa applications
  • Frequently updating clients on the status of their visa applications
  • Following up with clients on outstanding items and flagging items that are considered a concern in terms of the visa application
  • Familiarizing oneself with the Immigration Act, and advising clients accordingly
  • Effective maintenance of our internal “Online Immigration Tracking System”
  • Providing clear and concise visa application handover; for overseas applicants this is done via email, for applicants in South Africa this is done in person and a “handover email” is sent for his/her records
  • Management, leadership and guidance of subordinates within the Immigration team, including conducting performance appraisals
  • Training new staff members on practices and procedures
  • Developing marketing and business expansion strategies; developing content for company’s newsletter and website, writing articles, developing relationships/partnerships with international immigration attorneys to expand service offering
  • Expense management; ensuring all disbursements are paid in a timely manner, and included on the client invoice, including Immigration staff travel claims and any items that the company have paid on the client’s behalf to facilitate the applicants visa application
  • Identifying feasible business opportunities
  • Attending conferences and manning exhibition stands where required; networking
  • Issuance of fee quotes, invoices and following up with clients whose invoices are unpaid
  • Bi-weekly invoicing report on monthly billings’ status
  • Keeping up to date with any changes to the Immigration Act
  • Prepare and organise documentation to facilitate the evaluation of the candidate’s foreign qualification by the South African Qualifications Authority
  • Facilitate professional body registrations on behalf of our client
  • Attend client meetings as and when required
  • Accompany candidates to the VFS to submit and collect visa outcome, where required
  • Maintain professional relationships at all times
  • Assisting the Director with any business requests, as and when required
