ITS MANAGER ALICE CAMPUS – REF NO: 2400

SUMMARY:
The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the post of ITS Manager at Alice Campus. 

POSITION INFO:
Main Purpose:

• Implements and manages the ERP systems and integrating information systems including web applications.

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Information Technology/Systems supplemented with an applicable qualification in computer programming and systems analysis/ Oracle Database Administrator (Professional).
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in information systems, experience in the tertiary education environment is an advantage. Working knowledge of computer information systems; ICT legislation & regulations.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience on the Integrated Tertiary Software (ITS) system. Oracle discoverer experience as well as SQL experience. Unix ACE or 3 years’ experience in the Unix/Linux environment. Oracle DBA.
• 5 years’ experience including 3 years at a supervisory level
• Project Management and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
• ITS System training to ensure comprehensive knowledge of all ITS modules utilised.
• Sound knowledge of Computer Information Systems and digital technology.
• Expert Knowledge on the ITS system specifically all modules in use.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills.
• Creative and excellent organizational skills. Administrative skills and an understanding of computer programming languages.
• Team Oriented and Self-motivated.

Duties:

• Manage and maintain the ERP operating systems including Microsoft, Unix and Linux.
• Manage and maintain systems interfaces between ERP and other systems.
• Establish and maintain an information delivery mechanism (Web Portals); in support of quality service delivery.
• Manage and maintain a Knowledge Management database and Communities of Practice (CoPs); in support of quality service delivery.
• Development of applications in support of the official ERP system (ITS).
• Establish the Web as integration ICT platform.
• Compliance with ISO 17799, and other statutory requirements.
• Provide continuous availability of management systems.
• Provide online student information system for students, applicants, prospective students, parents, faculty and staff.
• Support for enterprise systems development and enterprise application integration and architecture.
• Advance the ITS Web-based platform.
• Set up and configuration of printers in the Unix domain.
• Set up and management of printing systems for the ERP system.
