JOB DESCRIPTION:

Objectives of this Role
 
  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, and software
  • Track and maintain hardware and software inventory
Key areas of responsibility:
  • Diagnose and resolve software issues on a range of software applications i.e., Windows OS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, WMS, SAP Business One, etc.
  • Analyse business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware issues – Printers, PC’s, monitors, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on PC’s and printers.
  • End user support on SAP Business One.
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results.
  • Plans, monitors, and appraises job results.
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees.
  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment.
  • Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes.
  • Implementing security of the network, data and its storage and communication systems
Education, Experience and Key Competencies
 
  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5 – 15 years of experience working in IT operations and Management
  • 5 -10 years’ experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
  • Warehouse management System experience (WMS)
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, MAC OSx, Microsoft Office Suite, Email Systems,
  • Networking and WiFi, VPN Technologies, VoIP Telephone Systems, Incident Ticketing Systems, Remote Support Tools, Printers/MFC, Handheld Devices/Mobile Devices, Asset Management Tools, Server Management Administration, Microsoft Exchange Server, LAN- Local Area Network, WAN- Wide Area Network, Wpan- Wireless Personal Area Network
Skills
  • Proven working experience as an IT Manager or relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Proven leadership skills and people management
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking
  • Professional certifications
