A national client has a position available for an onsite IT support Engineer in the Paarl area of the Western Cape.

The position available is for an IT Mid-Level support engineer with at least 3 years’ experience in an IT Desktop User support environment. At least 1 year’s network and Server infrastructure troubleshooting and support experience needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Dedicated Onsite user support for customer based in Paarl
• Setup of New users on a domain network
• Setting up of new User Hardware and installation of software
• Troubleshooting PC/ Notebook problems
• Configuration of new accounts and setup on users’ machines
• Active Directory maintenance, i.e., user password reset etc.
• Office 365 User creation Setup, support and maintenance
• Liaising with other support staff and 3rd party providers for problem solving on client infrastructure
• Backup maintenance
• Set-up and maintenance of network infrastructure
• Server Infrastructure basic setup and maintenance
• Configuration of network routers, switches
• Cisco Meraki experience beneficial
• Configuring of wi-fi and cable networks/switches
• Server Troubleshooting and maintenance
• Familiar with Microsoft Server 2019
• VM''''s and Hyper-V
• Proficient in Ticket management and helpdesk functionality

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience with remote support applications and techniques (e.g., VPN, RDP).
• Working knowledge of Active Directory administration: creating user accounts, resetting passwords, disabling and deleting users.
• Experience with server maintenance and health checks on Windows Server.
• Experience with the configuration and administration of Office 365.
• Experience with logging and following up calls with external suppliers and service providers.
• Excellent knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures (desktop and server).
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and desktop software.
• Good knowledge of server software and systems.
• Experience with configuring routers and wireless access points.
• A minimum of three years desktop support experience.
• At least three years User support and maintenance experience
• Excellent Communication Skills, Good time Management skills and reliable transport
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Hyper-V, VM''''s preferable
• Excellent written and Verbal communication skills
• Experience with setup and management of Office 365
• Able to communicate and work with senior client contacts
• Good time management skills, and able to perform well under pressure
• Valid SA Driver''''s license
