IT Risk Specialist

SUMMARY:
A leading company in the banking industry is looking for an IT Risk Specialist, with a focus on insurance.

POSITION INFO:

Role Purpose

To provide advice, guidance and support to the business and technology community to ensure appropriate implementation of an IT risk management programme in accordance with the Bank’s governance and IT risk requirements. To oversee the implementation and monitoring of a risk management framework including policies, standards, and security architecture to ensure sound IT management practices. 

Education and Experience:

• Minimum Qualification - Relevant Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and/or IT Risk Management
• Certification in any of the following will be an advantage: CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIA, PECB (ISO)
• Experience – Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
• Experience in Banking & Insurance is a non-negotiable

Job Description:

• Prevent wastage, and on an ongoing basis identify process improvements in order to contain and reduce costs
• Assess the adequacy of IT continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Management of risk including identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks across the business and oversee implementation of appropriate control measures to modify the risk
• Contract reviews
• Provide advice and support on IT risk and compliance, contribute to IT risk reports, and review and assess quality and accuracy of IT reports
• Liaise with Audit (Internal and External)
• Monitor IT incident and response management
• Keep abreast of current threats and stay current with IT evolution
• Drive IT Risk awareness training programs
• Participate in planned activities that are appropriate for own and employee development
• Assist with ensuring the accuracy of the IT Asset Register and CMDB
• Monitor implementation and effectiveness of security outputs
• Develop, encourage, and nurture collaborative relationships within First Line
• Monitor IT Risk performance
• Delivery of IT Risk Management projects as assigned
