IT Project Manager

SUMMARY:
This role requires a candidate who is skilled at planning, organising, and implementing the companies’ internal and client’s technical projects.

POSITION INFO:

You will need to ensure smooth delivery of projects in the backup, restore and archiving environment within the required timelines and quality management controls. Due to our client''s Equity Plan, African females will be given preference.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Minimum Project Management Certification
• Must have Prince 2 (PMBok)
• 2-5 years of project management experience.
• Project management experience in an IT environment desirable.
• Backup software support knowledge will be advantageous.
• MS Office literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Ms PowerPoint and Ms Projects essential)
• Ability to work independently and meet daily tasks.
• Problem-Solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to engage with various stakeholders.
• Ability to provide direction on timelines.
• Ability to hold stakeholders accountable.
• Having worked in an IT environment will be advantageous.
• Valid code 8 driver’s license and own reliable transport.
• Stable internet at home.

Key Result Areas:

• Understand the client’s different project scope and/or the services being delivered.
• Understand the client’s project designs to document scope creep
• Project Documents Compilation: Scope of Work/Project Charter, Project Plan, Status Reports, Meeting Minutes, Risk and Issue Log, Project Closure Document.
• Ensure all Technical Documentation, Project Documentation, emails sent to the Clients are of the required standard
• Follow-up with the client and internal resources continuously while projects are running and send communications related to progress.
• Liaise with clients and ensuring that their concerns and issues are resolved.
• Ability to not only professionally engage in meetings with clients but also organise meetings to discuss project goals and report on progress.
• Coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities.
• Using project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence.
• Conducting risk assessments for projects.
• Responsible for quality assurance.
• Manage several projects concurrently (multi-tasking).
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors.
