SUMMARY:
IT Petrochemical Technicians - Verification and Enablement
POSITION INFO:
Conduct verification analysis, testing, inspection and repair and to dispense equipment at service stations and POS as set out in the customer SLA.
3 – 5 years’ experience in fuel pump metrology and oil industry standards
Understanding of all fuel dispensing equipment in the Southern African market
Understanding of the calibration and assisting regulatory process
Knowledge of Forecourt equipment & various site systems
Valid plier
Qualified Verification Officer – SANAS approved
Verification Officer Certificate – registered with NRCS
Detailed understanding of SANAS 10378:2005
Detailed understanding of Trade Metrology Act 77 of 1973
Health & Safety Training in accordance with OHSA
Repairs and maintenance – Analysis, Calibration, Verification and installation
• Assisting with verification and testing as per required work instructions, procedures and
standards
• Analyse equipment failure and conduct repairs on faulty dispensing equipment and
components
• Effectively install and commission dispensers and peripheral equipment
• Maintain equipment in a serviceable and functional condition
• Ensure stock availability and accuracy of stock utilisation and allocation per site
• Obtain monthly calibration schedule and ensure that all calibrations are done as per schedule
issued
• Submit all calibration documents within x1 day of calibration completed
• Identify and resolve systems problems and report feedback to customers
• Ensure collecting, correct allocation of and distribution of samples
• Carry out all work and projects as assigned by management and as per SLA requirements
• Ensure job cards are signed off by the Dealer and delivered within deadlines
• Job cards to be completed indicating root cause, description of job and stock utilisation on
site
• Liaise with helpdesk to close calls after job completion
• Ensure compliance with Safety Standards and Vehicle procedures -
• Site reviews – Planned Maintenance & Verification and conduct 6 (six) monthly site reviews
• Respond to all maintenance calls within the required SLA, ensure that call closure procedure
is followed 100% of the time
• Assisting with the Issue of the necessary verification certificates, result reports,
supplementary certificates, rejection certificates and additional reports as required
• Provide feedback and reports in accordance with SLA for inspections, site repairs and site
reviews
• Report any suspicious and/or illegal occurrences and escalate high level problems to
Management
• Trouble-shoot and constantly inform IT Specialist of faults and remedial actions
• Notify Helpdesk of any matters or issues that may affect the planned working schedule
• Tag and close pump for repairs if necessary
• Analyse and identify health and safety hazards - Weekly audit on all regulatory and HSE
requirements, Tool box talks, PPE, vehicle inspections, safety files and control files
• Inform helpdesk of out-of-scope problems identified
• Close site calls /enquiries with Helpdesk
• Fully understand and comply with the SLA contractual requirements
• Develop and maintain good customer relationships
• Installation of pump systems as per customer requirements
• Assist with projects, installations and ad-hoc work
• Achievement of 75% on annual theoretical and practical training
• Report capacity availability to Management for re-deployment to urgent sites
• Successful completion of stand-by duties and responsibilities
