IT Operator

SUMMARY:
To provide efficient Operations, Administration and accurate running of IT Operational tasks in a 24 x 7 shift environment.

POSITION INFO:

Key Performance Areas:

1. Processing and monitoring batch jobs and file processing on the various Banking systems.
2. Processing and monitoring day and month ends on the various different Banking systems.
3. Ensure efficient and accurate monitoring of all systems.
4. To ensure that as part of the IT Operations teams all incidents, problems and issues are reportedly timeously at any given time.
5. To achieve the agreed standards and /or targets on issues such as customer service levels, expenditure, cost efficiency, security, control measures, policies and procedures at all times.
6. To ensure that escalations are diligently sent through and followed up with all support specialists.
7. To create and maintain efficient relationships with all stakeholders.

Experience, Knowledge and skills:

• Grade 12 is essential.
• IT qualification is essential.
• 6 - 12 months IT Operations experience is essential.
• Willingness to work in a shift environment is essential.
• Proficient in Windows, Office, UNIX and applications used in working area.

Technical aptitude of banking systems and applications used & technical monitoring.

Experience, Knowledge and skills:

• Proficient in Windows, Office and applications used in working area.
• Technical aptitude of banking systems and applications used.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and relationship management.
• A self-starter, who requires low levels of direct supervision.
• Attention to detail and vigilant.
