SUMMARY:
An international engineering fluid mechanics company requires the above to support the management team with all human resource issues, interaction with Union representatives, compliance with Employment Equity and Skills Development, monitoring and compliance with companies' BBB-EE strategies and targets.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Diploma/Degree Human Resource Management or Organizational Psychology is essential.
  • +- 8 Years proven work experience as an IR/HR Manager.
  • Knowledge of SEIFSA Bargaining Council rules advantageous.
  • Strong leadership ability.
  • Ability to foster healthy employee relations.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Employment Equity and Skills Development Act.
  • Sound knowledge of BBB-EE Act.
  • Sound knowledge of BCEA Act.
  • Solid understanding of labour legislation.

 Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing company policies.
  • Setting objectives for the HR team and tracking progress thereof.
  • Employment Equity and Skills Development compliance.
  • Monitoring of EE Plan and submission in consultation with EE Committee.
  • WSP preparation and compliance in consultation with Skills Development committee.
  • Succession Planning - Compiling the annual retention risk matrix and critical positions as part of the talent management process and liaising with Managing Director and other Senior Management with regards to the implementation of retention strategies for high risk individuals.
  • Policy development and implementation.
  • Job description implementation.
  • Job analysis and evaluation.
  • Work performance implementation and monitoring.
  • Handling all conciliation and arbitration at the Bargaining Council and Labour Courts.
  • Implementing and designing of training modules.
  • Monitoring and ensuring that apprenticeships are registered with the Merseta and that onsite training is monitored.
  • Monitoring accreditation with MERSETA for onsite training.
  • Strike contingency planning.
  • Receiving and issuing Mandates on Wage Negotiations.
  • Registration of Technicians, Professional Engineers with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA).
  • Monitoring of Mentorship Programs for candidate engineers registered with ECSA.
  • Ensuring that the company complies with all statutory developments in the employment environment.
  • COVID-19 Compliance Manager.
  • On-site clinic - Full Primary health (Occupational Nurse and Doctor).
