INSIGHTS MANAGER (AA) - CAPE TOWN

SUMMARY:
Responsible for ongoing strategic insights and support to the marketing, sales and new product development teams while providing assistance in the development of strategies for creating and growing key categories and brands through fact-based market, category, competitor, and consumer insights.

POSITION INFO:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide input into long term-strategy development for the Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, while understanding the business requirements and interpreting business requirements to determine optimum BI solutions that meet needs.
• Identify and provide input to development of information quality metrics that will have an impact on the relevant BI systems.
• Development of reports for various divisions/ business units/ plants/ departments – includes understanding the business need and being able to transform it into the relevant reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve and evolve existing BI solutions across the business. This includes the provision of design support for the development of business intelligence solutions.
• Advise the users on how BI (processes, practices and technologies) play a critical role in improving business management and optimization and explore the data and discovers patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends.
• Enable self-service BI with ongoing branding and enhancements.
• Adhere to and meet all relevant data integrity and safety requirements within the area of responsibility.
• Monitor any trends in food and proactively turn these into potential innovation. This primarily relates to business trend data and any trend analysis derived.
• Actively address all customer and supplier concerns, while actively engaging with primary data agency contractor.
• Adhere to and lead in the compliance of all applicable regulatory statutes such as the POPI Act, and all other safety and quality systems.
• Monitor and actively manage access to data controls internally and by masking data to ensure business intelligence data does not leak externally.
• Accountability for ensuring accuracy of all data business relies on in making decisions.
• Adhere to and provide input into current policy, procedure and for the form, structure, and attributes of the organizational BI tools and system.
• Interface with vendors to keep abreast of new technologies, pricing and customer applicability and participate in vendor evaluations.
• Focus on consolidation of data and systems into platforms.
• Proactively identify continual improvement strategies.
• Action agreed data quality and security initiatives ensuring that they are aligned to tasks/ processes/ systems.
• Work as a functional lead and participate in workstream planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions.
• Work with internal and external customers and IT partners to develop and analyse business intelligence needs, as well as work within-house systems as well as external vendor systems to analyse, visualize and present data and the associated analytical products for the end-users.
• Research business problems and create models that help analyse these business problems, and keep abreast of research tools, frameworks, and mechanisms for data analytics.

• Bachelor’s Degree/ Advanced Diploma in the relevant field
• 4-6 years’ experience
• Has and gains insight into situations, problems and processes.
• Uses appropriate interpersonal skills and techniques to gain acceptance for ideas or solutions.
