SUMMARY:
The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the post of ICT Support Manager at Alice Campus. 

POSITION INFO:
Main Purpose:

• To provide effective supervision, planning, installation, configuration, monitoring and maintaining data, voice and video communications infrastructure and devices.

• 3 Year relevant ICT qualification (e.g. National Diploma/Degree: Computer Networks / IT / OR relevant certifications such as ITIL, COBIT AND 5 years’ experience at supervisory level.
• 5 years’ experience including 3 years at a supervisory level
• CCNA, A+, N+, MCSE and Knowledge of Computer networks and telecommunication infrastructure.
• Interconnecting Network devices, Cisco Network Systems, MCSE.
• Microsoft Active Directory, Cisco Systems Training, Wired and Wireless networks.
• Technical understanding of academic institutional systems.
• Interpersonal, Configuration of Computer Networks, Communication, Problem Solving Troubleshooting.
• Well-developed organisational, supervisory and administrative skills.

• Ensure installation and configuration of new and existing computer equipment, printers, wired and wireless network infrastructure that will facilitate the convergence of voice, data and video.
• Ensure implementation of network cabling and wireless infrastructure plans as and when required.
• Proactively monitor all existing LAN and WAN links and ensure connectivity at all times.
• Maintain all existing network devices and infrastructure.
• Comply with the relevant standards and policy. requirements which include Network Policy, Information Security and etc.
• Status reporting to relevant line management.
• Provide documentation and schematic representation of the new and existing network infrastructure.
• Provide support to the computer laboratory’s network related incidents and requirements.
• Monitor, install and maintain the student network infrastructure.
• Installations, monitoring and maintenance of servers. Fault finding and resolutions. Server updates. Research, install and test latest server operating system updates. Upgrade server hardware.
• Installation, monitoring and maintenance of backup process.
