R30 000 – R33 000 Per Month Negotiable based on Qualification and Years of Experience

Reputable Food Manufacturing concern is offering this ICT Engineer role within their dynamic IT division.

Purpose of the Role:

Responsible for installing, configuring, updating and maintaining all computer hardware and  software as well as providing hands on support for IT issues .

Qualification, skills and experience required:

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Technical certifications in key infrastructure services and applications (advantageous)
• 4 years working in a similar role
• A solid understanding of network practices with infrastructure knowledge
• Azure cloud services
• Experience with Microsoft based systems
• Microsoft 365 Experience
• A solid IT infrastructure and Business Systems background (advantageous)
• Good working knowledge of: Microsoft Azure, MS Office, Syspro and TransLution

Key Performance Areas:

Hardware & Software:

• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
• Check hardware to ensure functionality
• Repair or replace damaged hardware
• Install, test, configure and monitor servers, firewalls and software and functions according to company specifications
• Perform tests and evaluations in new hardware and software
• Install and update network system improvements as needed
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

IT Support:

• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimise performance
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
• Be the first point of contact for error reporting
• Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Monitor web performance, network availability and security,  manage VOIP and Telecom systems
• Oversee troubleshooting for system errors
• Provide helpdesk support for network issues/provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits, as needed
• Ensure electrical safety standards are met
• Conduct daily backup operations

Documentation:

• Maintain records and logs of repairs
• Maintain and update the Asset Register
• Maintain and update an accurate user list of all active users on the network
• Maintain and adhere to the maintenance schedule
• Keep record of all purchases of IT related equipment
• Maintain all documentation required for due diligence
• Adhere to procedures and specifications

Risk & Compliance:

• Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements
• Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control
